Workers at the Dubai International Airport were awoken by a fierce storm resulting to disruptions of service for many hours and indeed the cancellation of flights and very many people had to be affected.

In order to minimize consequences, authorities attempted to decrease the impact of the event and for several hours, rerouted arriving flights due to the changing weather. Although disruptions continued, departures did; and while it was expected that these could be slow from time to time as passengers were willing to undergo more waiting time.

However, the aftermath of the downpour was also equally dramatic as several international airlines landing in Dubai had to face extension of the holding period and diversions due to bad weather for the following reasons: Ad hoc management of facilities of competing over other airports like the Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport and Sharjah International Airport was also difficult.
When the UAE National Centre of Meteorology starting giving danger signals, telling people to avoid going outside because of the storm raging, the government came out to further, relax working policies and to make the learning of the students go online realizing that the lives of their people, employees and students are important.
It becoming apparent that the storms are not likely to subside in the coming week and wind was still blowing so hard in the emirates the public was advised to be very careful and in constant touch with the authorities as the battle against the forces of nature was on.
